The next month, The Pirandello Society of America was formally launched, and a new chapter of exciting exchanges, collaborations, and inspirational scholarship had officially started. Since then, the Society has continued to grow and fulfill its mission by sponsoring collaborative events with multiple institutions (The Players, the City University of New York’s Graduate Center, New York University’s Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimo’, and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura), international cultural organizations (Centro Nazionale Studi Italiani and Biblioteca Museo Luigi Pirandello), as well as with language associations (NeMLA, MLA). Today, the Society and its Board members continue working to preserve this rich legacy of collaboration, performance, and publication, while broadening its reach through new initiatives and international partnerships. To that end, the Society sponsors collaborative events, performances and conference sessions throughout the year, with annual panels organized at major national conventions, such the Modern Language Association and the Northeast Modern Language Association.
